The IVA doctoral consortium offers an opportunity for doctoral students to get feedback and guidance on their current research and future research directions from distinguished researchers outside their own institution.
The doctoral consortium day occurs the day before the start of the main conference. It will provide a supportive setting that allows the selected students to present and discuss their work with an audience of distinguished researchers as well as other students.
Each selected student will be matched with an established researcher in the community, who will act as a mentor. The mentor will interact closely with the student, to provide feedback and guidance on the student's research and career before and during the doctoral consortium day.
We invite students who would like to benefit from this guidance to apply. We encourage, in particular, candidates who have a clear topic and research approach, and have made some progress, but who can still benefit from feedback and guidance.
Based on the submissions, the organizing committee will select a group of students that will be invited to participate in the doctoral consortium day. The selected students will be expected to attend and present at the doctoral consortium.
Submissions consist of the following documents which students should provide:
The first two items should be emailed to the consortium chair: Magalie Ochs (magalie.ochs(at)telecom-paristech.fr)
The student’s advisor/supervisor should email their letter of recommendation (third item) to the doctoral consortium chair : Magalie Ochs (magalie.ochs(at)telecom-paristech.fr) by May 15, 2014.
The letter should address the expected benefit of the student attending, the significance of the research, and the beginning date of the thesis as well as the expected date for thesis submission.
