In order to use any of the Isthmus tools there are only a few files which the user must create. The majority of the environment can be generated. The files the user must have contain the class dictionary and the propagation patterns. In order for Demeter and Isthmus to recognise them, they must have specific extensions:
From these files the rest of the environment can be generated. Later Sections will explain exactly how to make this occur.
